One of the best parts of my job is getting to meet the people in front of the camera lens. That’s why it’s especially exciting when I get the opportunity to photograph a couple on more than one occasion. That’s the case with Rebecca Cole and Jeff Smith. We recently shot their summer engagement session at Frontier Park in Erie, PA and are looking forward to photographing their upcoming September 19th wedding as well.
Meet the Couple: Rebecca and Jeff
Rebecca and Jeff met through a mutual friend in high school in 2011. They quickly became close friends. On a warm summer day before the 2012 school year, Rebecca and Jeff were heading home from a day at the beach with friends. They were sitting in the backseat when Jeff surprised Rebecca with a kiss. Rebecca was so shocked! “I freaked out after he left!” she said. The two started dating a few days later, after the school year began. Now, they’ve been together just shy of seven years.
One of the couple’s favorite memories together happened at Findley Lake. “One day, a bunch of us went to Findley Lake to swim and jump off the rope hanging from a tree. We had been swimming for an hour, on and off the rope. Before we left, Jeff wanted to go off one more time. He climbed the stump to grab the rope, but slipped off the stump, down onto the ground, and almost rolled into the water.” Jeff was okay, but now the couple can’t drive by the lake without the memory of poor Jeff falling out of the tree making them laugh all over again.
A Sunset Proposal
Jeff’s proposal to Rebecca was a beautiful moment. They had just finished celebrating their 4th year together. After dinner, Jeff drove them to their favorite local beach. The couple sat on a bench, watching the colorful sunset, when Jeff got down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and asked Rebecca to marry him.
“I love that Jeff tries to see the positive in every situation and makes me feel like everything is going to be okay. He’s extremely comforting and is always trying to make me happy, which he is very good at doing.”
“I love that Becca is very sympathetic and compassionate to everyone and everything. She feels other people’s pain, which is unique in today’s world. She has changed me in so many good ways. I could never thank her enough for all the changes she has made in me.”
Sweet, Summer Engagement Photos at Frontier Park
We took Rebecca and Jeff’s summer engagement photos at Frontier Park in Erie, PA. The beautiful trees and greenery surrounding us at the park really made it feel like we were in a summer wonderland. The lush setting and natural light made for the perfect engagement session.
I can’t wait to photograph Rebecca and Jeff’s September wedding at Lawrence Park Golf Club. The love they have for each other was so obvious during their engagement photos that their wedding photos are sure to be just as lovely.
