What’s more fun and romantic than a first introduction at the beach on a sunny day, waves lapping upon the shore, and a breeze teasing one’s hair? That idyllic meeting is how Adam and Andrew first connected at the Pennsylvania seashore known as Beach 6 at Presque Isle State Park. It was during a game of volleyball that their love story began.
Adam and Andrew officially celebrate the day after Thanksgiving as the anniversary of their first date, which was dinner at the Diamond Cafe. Unfortunately, long-distance dating kept them from seeing each other as regularly as they liked. Since Andrew lived in Erie, Adam knew he had a decision to make: stay in Philly, where he lived, or look for something back in Erie. “It wasn’t until then that I knew moving back would lead to a marriage and a lifetime of happiness with Andrew,” Adam recalls.
With This Ring Pop, I Thee Wed
While their first date was in the fall, their sweet proposal took place in spring. Andrew really wanted Adam to take the day off from work to see the new Captain Marvel movie in theaters. After the movie was over, they headed home and found a box on the front steps of the house. The package was addressed to Adam, who was fairly certain he hadn’t ordered anything and was not expecting a package. But he opened the box anyway and found that it was full of candy. Ring pops specifically. Adam remembers feeling very confused but was reassured by Andrew to keep digging, eventually finding a ring box! When Adam turned around to question Andrew, he found him down on one knee, asking him to marry him!
Saying “I Do” at the Erie Art Museum
Adam and Andrew said “I do” at the unique and modern Erie Art Museum in an intimate gathering of friends and family. Located downtown, the Erie Art Museum is one of our favorite wedding venues for its artistic and unique ambiance and setting. Whether planning an indoor or outdoor wedding, Erie Art Museum can accommodate both with creative focal points that look excellent in photographs. With a classic love story that will stand the test of time like Adam and Andrew’s, we can’t think of a better place to say “I do” than in an area that celebrates works of art! We know it may sound cheesy, but we truly believe that each love story is a unique work of art deserving of celebration! If you want to learn more about some of our favorite venues, check out this article from last month on our blog.
It doesn’t matter if these two are sitting back at the local theater enjoying the new Marvel franchise blockbuster or volleying a ball on the beach; they know that enjoying each other is their primary goal and everything else comes in second. To them, we say cheers, and may you have a long and happy life together!
