Edinboro University is a little different from some of our other featured venues. If you're looking for a venue that has personality, beauty, and a strong history, Edinboro University may be the place for you. Keep reading to learn more about this Pennsylvania staple.
Edinboro University was first founded in 1857 as a private school for teachers called Edinboro Academy. The Academy consisted of one two-story, six-room building that still stands on the campus today as Academy Hall. Since then, the school has evolved into an acclaimed center for higher education, offering over 150 programs for students.
Edinboro University even has a local branch in Erie, PA, called Porreco College.
Edinboro offers event space and services for both internal and external guests. For weddings, the Frank G. Pogue Student Center is the perfect place. It's a spacious, contemporary room. It's also equipped with tables, chairs, WiFi, televisions, podiums, and an LCD projector. Also available are microphones and sound systems.
The Van Houten Dining Hall can be used for receptions. You can even ask Chartwells, the school's on-campus food service provider, to assist with your catering and menu.
Edinboro University sits on 585 picturesque acres. There are a few different places on campus our clients have enjoyed having their pictures taken, including beside a beautiful willow tree, a pond, or beside "Angus." Angus is a large statue of the school's mascot, The Fighting Scot.
One advantage of using Edinboro University for your session is that it has something different to offer during each season of the year. Whether it's a blanket of snow, golden-yellow trees, or spring-blooming flowers, your photos are sure to have an unforgettable backdrop.
Take a look at the engagement session we did at Edinboro University with Andrew, Jennifer, and their adorable border collie, Austin. Even in the rain, the campus proved the perfect place to tell their love story.
Andrew and Jennifer also had their wedding at Edinboro University. We took some gorgeous bridal shots at the university's Standing Stones. The Standing Stones are a tribute to the school's Scottish heritage. They provide a unique, eye-catching backdrop for photos.
We also shot another couple's big day at Edinboro. Mitch and Jen's wedding ceremony was a one-of-a-kind, outdoor ceremony that took place entirely on the historic campus. They took advantage of all the natural greenery and lush landscape around them.
In addition to the Standing Stones, the university boasts a lakeside gazebo that would be ideal for an outdoor ceremony.

We believe every moment, every story , every step that brought you here is different. More than anything, life is not photoshopped, This is why we don't do one-size-fits-all in our work or our wedding packages. We custom tailor every package for each of our MM couples.
You have a couple of options here. First, you can head over to the contact us page, fill out the form, and send it over to us. Or, send us a text message with your name, wedding date, and venue. Either way, we do our best to get back to you by the next business day.
If we're available on your date, we will then set up a time to meet, chat about your day, and create a package that fulfills your wish list. Your and your fiance's signatures on our contract plus a 50% non-refundable deposit officially reserves your date on our calendar.
You will get both! I photograph every wedding using two different cameras -- one dedicated to black and white and the other to color. The ratio of black and white to color photos you receive in your gallery may change based on your chosen wedding colors, venue, and/or preference. If you see a black and white image that you want in color, or vice versa, it is very likely that I will have it and can add it to your gallery.
At Matt Mead Photography we believe that building relationships with our clients is the best way to serve them. That's why we value meeting all of our couples face-to-face -- either in person at our home studio or by video call. We look forward to meeting you soon!
