Picture this: A engagement photos on a beach at Presque Isle State Park—Lighthouse in the distance, waves lapping against the sand. A beautiful couple holds hands, having fun together. Feet wet in the water, walking on the beach, as the sun displays deep hues of blues and orange in the fading light of sunset. Does it get more romantic than this? In fact, It doesn’t. There’s a distinct reason why Nicholas Sparks is a millionaire. Because this photoshoot is what books are written about. It just really can’t get more romantic than a sunset stroll, with your love, on a beach.
Courtney and Chris, thank you for allowing us the pleasure of documenting and creating memories for your Lighthouse Beach engagement! The two C’s made our job of capturing their love an absolute breeze.
Their First Meeting
Courtney met Chris through her mom. Having just moved back to PA after living in Florida for almost two decades, Courtney was more focused on unpacking boxes than she was dating! When she found out that Chris was the one who drove her mom to the airport to help Courtney move, she decided to find out a little more about this playful and sincere man. On July 4th, 2020, their first date was a sunset viewing on Chris’s family boat followed by dinner at Firebirds.
Chris knew that Courtney was the one for him on their first date! Her smile and positive attitude won him over. A short five months later, Chris proposed on New Year’s Eve. Courtney, realizing his steadfastness and commitment, was surprised and nervous, all at once! She responded to Chris and the engagement band with a “Well, go ahead and put it on!” to confirm her mutual commitment. The rest, as they say, is history.
The Lighthouse Beach Engagement Photos
Casual in t-shirts, tanks, and jeans, Chris and Courtney won us over with their dazzling smiles and laughter. This fun couple’s playfulness translated to each image taken. In the years to come, we hope they look back and think, “Remember how much fun we had on our engagement photo shoot!”
While many of their pictures were comfortable and casual, with piggyback rides and an easy-breezy feel, Chris and Courtney also opted for a few more formal portraits. Him in a tropical button-down print. Her in a long, white, boho lace embroidered dress perfect for the beach. We loved their ability to transfer quickly between the two outfits, both as a physical change of clothes but also in demeanor. From the playful, fun photos to images to those with a more striking, intimate quality, Chris and Courtney shined in both.
