A mere 30 minutes from Erie, along a great drive that most of us are pretty familiar with, you’ll find our next venue spotlight: Lakeshore Vineyard Weddings and Events.
Just a few minutes outside the town of Ripley and just under a half hour to the Chautauqua Institute, you and your guests will certainly not lack for things to do, places to explore, and places to stay.
From Ripley, you could explore a number of local wineries (go here for information) and you could take advantage of the lakeshore itself with walks and beach time. And a drive over to Chautauqua is always worth the time. For your guests who have never been there, the Institute never fails to impress. Check out their schedule for what’s going on during and around your wedding date. (And if your wedding is during the off season, staying there can be wonderful; it’s quiet and the rates are lower.)
Venue Spotlight: Lakeshore Vineyard
As your photographer, I can say this is one beautiful spot. The backdrop of the lake is really dramatic and will never disappoint.
Lakeshore Vineyard is locally and family owned. This exquisite vineyard sits on 24 acres that offer breathtaking views of Lake Erie’s gorgeous shorelines. No exaggeration there. And it offers beautiful views of surrounding vineyards. (You’re in the heart of grape country here.)
If an all-outdoor wedding is what you’ve got in mind, you’re in luck at Lakeshore Vineyard! Ceremonies are lovely in the Lake View Arbor. The namesake arbor is in a secluded location and boasts a panoramic lake view with majestic trees right behind the arbor. If you time it right, the sunset will vividly imprint this moment on your and your guests’ memories.
Other amenities
The private lawn at Lakeshore Vineyard is large enough to host both your vows and reception and accommodates 200 guests. The covered tent area is perfect for reception and dancing. There’s also the Vineyard itself, with a cleared area in the middle of the vineyard which is perfect for gorgeous pictures of your special day.
Wherever you choose, the lake and vineyard provides a unique and inspiring backdrop for your wedding.
Once you’ve said “I do,” you can continue the celebration in the tented Courtyard beneath glowing market lights. Your guests will feel as if they’re reveling in the piazza of a quaint Italian village. Off to the side, a small grove of trees with seating area and twinkling market lights make a very cool place for a hideaway cocktail hour or an intimate reception.
The views and atmosphere — combining the lake with the vineyard — will make for an unforgettable experience.
In addition, Lakeshore Vineyard boasts a beautiful rustic barn for indoor receptions. The barn includes the groom and bride quarters, bathrooms, and bars on both floors. The main reception hall is upstairs and can fit up to 140 guests for your special day.
Lakeshore Vineyard: Testimonials
Let’s hear from some of the people who have had or been to weddings at Lakeshore Vineyard.
We just had our wedding here and the venue was absolutely gorgeous! Staff was readily available to answer questions when planning, and they let us come visit a few times to make sure all of the details were in place. They worked incredibly hard to make sure the day ran smoothly, and our wedding day was perfect! (Cayla)
The staff and venue at Lakeshore was absolutely perfect for our wedding day! Not only did they run the business like a well oiled machine, they did it all with great kindness and sincerity. You can tell the family truly enjoys helping brides and grooms have a beautiful wedding day! I also LOVED the ceremony space and hearing the waves crashing on the lake as I walked down the aisle. It was a truly picture perfect day that I will never forget!! (Courtney)
This is the most beautiful venue! The property is wonderful with lake views and the vineyards. The perfect combination! The indoor event space is so unique! Almost like a wine barrel. The venue is a family-owned business, and their service is remarkable. They are very professional, accommodating, and truly go above and beyond to make your special day more than you could dream! We had so many compliments from our guests! (Abigail)
My husband and I got married at Lakeshore Vineyards in June. I am so so glad we decided to have our wedding here! The location for the ceremony is stunning, on a cliff overlooking Lake Erie. The barn reception hall was perfect for both cocktail hour and wedding reception. It is a family-owned business and they do a great job running it. They replied promptly to emails, provided great recommendations for other vendors, and really helped bring our vision to life! Highly recommend this venue! (Jillian)
The venue is perfect. The place is literally built for every need for a wedding. We had our wedding in August of 2023 and this venue was probably my favorite part. The lakeside is amazing and the reception hall is as well. The vineyard also allows for some amazing photos. I was more than happy with my choice. The venue owners are the most accommodating, hardworking, and kind people that will make sure you are taken care of in every way. They will even provide decorating if you’d like to limit what you need to do. The staff takes great care of the grounds and buildings and stays available during the wedding for all of your needs. They do a good amount of, if not all of, the setup and take down. I would book them again in a heartbeat. (Miranda)
