Fairy tales often end with a storybook wedding. As an experienced Erie PA wedding photographer, I have been very fortunate to capture many of these real life fairy tales. Recently I had the privilege to photograph the Warner Theatre wedding of a longtime friend’s daughter. Your wedding day is one of the biggest moments you’ll ever take part in. As a wedding photographer, my job is to not only capture the story of the day, but also the emotions of all the chapters that led to the I Do’s. My goal is to bestow couples with that magical Once Upon a Time feeling each and every time they look back on the photos of their day. This is why I particularly love when I have the privilege to capture not only the wedding, but also a couple’s engagement photos. Justin Scarpitti and Amanda Hunt are one such couple.
The Next Level
Amanda and Justin knew each other for several years before going on their first date back in the summer of 2014 and she takes credit for escalating their relationship. Laughing, she said, “Justin was oblivious to my moves at first. I knew well before him that he was someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with,” she said. “The way he was with my kids, I just knew that there was something about him. Something that I couldn’t let go. They way he played with them and included them. I knew he was the one.”
The Whole Wide World
Justin soon knew as well. He also knew how important Timmy and Ava were to them both of them, so he recruited the kids for his proposal proving just how intuitive he’d become when it came to knowing Amanda’s heart. He proposed while they we were all on vacation together in Virginia Beach. Per the plan, Ava distracted Amanda by arguing with Timmy. “I grabbed her hand and started walking ahead,” Amanda said. Oblivious that she was being set up in the best possible way, Amanda told Ava, “The world does not revolve around you.”
Behind her, she heard Justin say, “You know who the world does revolve around?”
Without stopping to turn around Amanda asked, “Who, who does the world revolve around?”
That’s when Timmy called to her. She turned to see Justin down on one knee with the ring. “I was completely thrown,” Amanda recalls. “I had no idea. It couldn’t have been better. He involved my kids and I fell in love with him a little more that night!”
The Wedding
Amanda and Justin chose a Warner Theatre wedding. The theatre is one of Erie’s great wedding venues and offers an opulent art deco vibe that is always a joy shoot. We are fortunate in Erie to have many spectacular wedding venues and the majestic Warner Theatre, with its gold-gilded Grand Lobby is certainly one of them. The landmark has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982.
A Wink to The Rat Pack
Amanda and Justin’s had one major request that turned out to be a fun experience for me as well. The couple asked me to recreate the iconic image of the Rat Pack playing pool. I did exactly that with both the groomsmen AND the bridesmaids.
Happily Ever After
I was only a small part of Justin and Amanda’s story, but as always, I am thrilled to use my talents to capture the start of another Happily Ever After. Contact me if you too are in need of an Erie, Pa wedding photographer.
