Unless you’re having a prescribed sort of religious wedding that follows a church’s liturgy, you’re likely helping to write out your vows and maybe even more for your big day. That can feel overwhelming. So, as usual, we’re here to help. We’ve researched a wide variety of wedding quotes. We’ll be plucking from everything! Films, literature, poetry, songs. We’re putting together a collection you can pick and choose from.
Keep in mind, too, that you could use these wedding quotes — sometimes funny, sometimes tear-jerky-y — not just for your ceremony. You could use them for everything from your website, your invitations, your programs, or wherever you want or need words. (Maybe you need help writing a speech; we’ve written about that right here.)
Remember this above all else: your wedding is for you. So regardless of whether Aunt Sally thinks quoting the Lord of the Rings during your ceremony is silly, it’s not if that’s what brings meaning for you.

We’ll end with one of the greatest love poets of all times to round out your wedding quotes.
Check out more of his work here if this one speaks to you:
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you directly, without problems or pride: I love you
like this because I don’t know any other way to love,
except in this form in which I am not nor are you, so close that your
hand upon my chest is mine, so close that your eyes close with my dreams.
Pablo Neruda, One Hundred Love Sonnets: XVII
And as always, we’d love to hear from you. Did you use any great wedding quotes? Please share!
