Dennis and Amanda’s Erie Art Museum Wedding

Amanda and Dennis had their Erie Art Museum wedding delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but their incredible photos were worth the wait! After we met for their engagement photo session in an arcade, I couldn’t help but eagerly anticipate their wedding date. Let me tell you — this couple is constantly outdoing themselves! Thanks to Amanda’s work connections, the Erie Art Museum hosted their gorgeous wedding ceremony and reception. It can certainly be intimidating to be surrounded by valuable art, but I’m confident you’ll join me in thinking that this duo’s smiles stole the show.

Two Hearts and Plenty of Art

Dennis and Amanda met in graduate school, where they were both studying music. Although they couldn’t have known at their first meeting, this shared love of art would remain all the way through their wedding day! I cannot think of a better venue than an art museum for the ceremony of this one-of-a-kind couple.

Their choice in location isn’t the only way that their dating history echoed throughout the ceremony. Although the pair couldn’t recall a specific first date, Amanda shared fond memories of playing Rock Band with her video game-loving boyfriend. It’s unsurprising, then, that the musical pair would incorporate a disco into their reception! Their choice to make it a silent disco was especially cool — it was only the second one I’ve seen. Each dancer listened to their own music on headphones, creating a massive dance party that appears completely silent!

Despite the lack of noise, I can assure you that the festivities made quite a statement.

The Erie Art Museum Wedding

The wedding photographer in me can’t help but believe that a love story is its own form of art. Having the opportunity to capture Dennis and Amanda’s wedding inside a literal art museum was a dream come true! The gorgeous building also housed their reception and our “first look” photographs. I know that people say art is open to interpretation, but I’d say the meaning is pretty clear here: pure joy!
