A recent photo session took me to Bemus Point, New York to meet up with Karina and Drew. They wanted to capture their engagement photos at Long Point State Park, a stunning area that will also host their wedding. Getting to meet the couple was fun enough, but the beautiful venue and their adorable dogs made the trip even more enjoyable. As we count down the days until their wedding ceremony, I am so happy to share some of my favorite shots from the day.
From Wine Night to the Rest of Their Lives
Karina and Drew shared mutual friends, but never truly crossed paths until one fateful night at a bar. Their encounter revealed instant chemistry and prompted an impromptu wine night. Between the games of pool and engaging conversation, the pair knew they had to meet up again. Karina decided to invite him to Buckeye Country Fest and, though the day was fun, it almost ended in disaster. Their attempt at a pizza dinner nearly went up in flames! Talk about sparks flying.
Although that first date came with a little cooking drama, Karina found many of her old anxieties melting away when she was with Drew. Where she had previously made excuses to not go on dates, she found herself always wanting to spend time with him.
Fortunately for this love story, Drew felt the same way. While Karina was visiting family in California, Drew flew out to surprise her with a sneaky plan and a sparkly ring. After Karina’s sister convinced her to pull over for an “endangered tortoise,” Karina was shocked to find Drew down on one knee instead.
The Long Point State Park Engagement Photos
Set against Chaumont Bay, Long Point State Park was the perfect location for some stunning engagement photos. Beyond being the site for the pair’s upcoming wedding, Bemus Point and the park have another special connection to Karina. Her parents have a lake house in the area and spend as much time on the water as possible. I was so happy to help make this engagement session more personalized to the beautiful couple, both through the location and the inclusion of their dog!
