I’m so happy to finally be sharing the photos from Katie and Tyler’s Lake Shore Country Club wedding. This 2021 couple was originally going to be a 2020 couple, but we all know what happened there. These two are such a fun pair, and I was so bummed that their special day had to be delayed. Still, it was definitely worth the wait. Their beautiful wedding was filled with joy, smiles, and even a special sunset. I feel so fortunate to have been present and included as plans got derailed and delayed. After witnessing their happy ceremony, I’m confident that the smiles captured here will be the first of many for the married couple.
An Effortless Connection
When Katie and Tyler met at a mutual friend’s birthday party, they had no idea what the future had in store. In fact, they didn’t even begin dating until a few years after their first encounter! Finally, one Monday night, the two met up at Chopstix. Though Katie recalls Tyler being filled with nerves, their connection was instantaneous. If Tyler accidentally leaving his debit card at the restaurant — forcing the pair to drive back — was a ploy to spend more time with Katie, it was unnecessary: the date was the first of many.
Over the years, Katie saw countless ways that proved Tyler loved her to the moon and back (or, at the very least, to Chopstix and back)! She felt that she could go anywhere in the world and be happy, as long as she was with him. This sentiment rang true as the pair took off for an Outer Banks vacation. The days were hot and buggy, putting a strain on the days, but Tyler had a secret weapon to turn the trip around.
After wandering around the downtown area, Tyler got down on one knee and proposed. Although Katie had felt like he had been acting weird, she hadn’t seen it coming at all!
The Lake Shore Country Club Wedding
Lake Shore Country Club proved to be a gorgeous venue for Katie and Tyler’s wedding. It offered stunning views, plenty of space, and a lot less bugs than the Outer Banks! After the breathtaking ceremony, the couple was easily able to transition into their reception at the same location. We were then able to pop outside for some lakeside pictures with the sunset.
It was so wonderful to go on this journey with Katie and Tyler and see their big day finally arrive. If you’re searching for a wedding photographer, Matt Mead is here to celebrate you — come rain, shine, or global pandemic. Contact us to check availability and book your wedding today.
