Mindy and Justin’s Intimate Presque Isle Beach Wedding

Being an Erie, PA photographer, I have had the opportunity to photograph a lot of truly lovely places. I find it especially rewarding to capture a couple’s special day in a place that holds some significance to them. This was the case recently, when I had the pleasure of photographing the breathtaking wedding of Mindy McMullen and Justin Edmiston, held at the scenic Presque Isle Lighthouse beach at Presque Isle State Park.

A Presque Isle Romance

Mindy and Justin, of Pittsburgh, PA, have spent much of their romance on the sparkling waters of Presque Isle. They even have a sailboat at the Presque Isle Marina. When the time came to make their wedding vows, they knew it had to be at this special place.

There is something unique about photographing a couple in a place where they are comfortable and share a history together. This was evident with Mindy and Justin. Throughout the ceremony and bridal portraits, you could see they felt at home under the soft blue of the Presque Isle sky.

An Intimate, Family Ceremony

Mindy and Justin’s wedding day consisted of an intimate ceremony on the Erie beach, with their closest friends and family present. It was moving to see their son Edan participate in his parent’s ceremony, taking on the role of ring bearer. He was also responsible for handing out bubble favors to each of the guests.

This occasion marked the growing of their family in another way, too, as Mindy is currently three months pregnant with their second child! How special it is that Mindy and Justin’s children will spend much of their childhood sailing on the waters near the very beach their parents said, “I do.”

The Bridal Portraits

Due to the cold and windy weather, we relocated the bridal portraits to the the lobby and on the sky walk of the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel. Portraits were also taken at the Erie County Convention Center, allowing for a perfect view of the iconic Bicentennial Tower at Dobbins Landing.

I wish Mindy and Justin the very best. I am sure they will continue making Erie beach memories with their growing family. Maybe someday I will have the opportunity to photograph the whole family on the same Presque Isle Lighthouse beach.
