Jackie and Pat’s photo sessions were exercises in extremes. While their engagement session in Frontier Park took place on one of Erie’s coldest days, their elegant Saint Patrick’s wedding was celebrated on one of our warmest to date. Because this photogenic couple was willing to face any challenge Mother Nature threw at us, I had so much fun working with them. It just goes to show that photographer – and couple – have to stay on our toes!
Getting Ready for the Big Day
We shot our bridal photos at the couple’s favorite golf course, Lawrence Park Golf Club. This 18-hole course offers incredible views of Lake Erie, and the manicured grounds and creek running through the property are just beautiful.
Jackie’s wedding party prepared for the ceremony at Ambridge Rose Spa and Salon. And party it was! She and her group primped and pampered, and they came out looking simply stunning. What’s a fellow to do while waiting for the ladies? Why head down to the neighborhood Public House for a pint, that’s what!
A Saint Patrick’s Wedding to Remember
Saint Patrick’s is a gorgeous venue. The stately two hundred-year-old church has an old world gothic stone exterior, and soaring ceilings, arches, and columns inside. Classic white, cream, and gold coloring perfectly contrasts the darker wooden pews and flooring. Large stained glass windows let in wonderful filtered light.
Jackie was beautiful in her dress. The look on Pat’s face said it all.
The wedding party looked very elegant and put together. Pat and Jackie truly had their wedding to remember.
Masonic Lodge Erie Reception
The couple chose to hold their reception in Erie’s iconic Masonic Temple. Built in 1909, this venue’s classic architecture is unparalleled in the city. Polished wood, marble, and carved ceilings provide abundant backdrops for spectacular photos.
This couple, and their friends and family, were so full of joy. The evening was spent in laughter and love, sharing stories and memories.
Jackie’s sister (and maid of honor)brought the house down during her toast by bringing out her picture of a younger Jackie sporting her childhood “tomboy” style.
Pat’s older brother shared several humorous stories. My favorite one explains how Pat went from being nicknamed “Bones” to “Fatty Smalls!”
The temple’s beautifully finished wood floors were perfect for dancing!
