After photographing Mikki and JJ for their engagement session last winter, I knew that their George Washington Hotel wedding in Washington, PA this fall would be a blast. Together, they share a great deal of laughter, lighthearted banter, and finishing each other’s sentences.
A Foundation of Friendship
Immediately upon meeting Mikki and JJ, the strength of their bond is evident. They have the type of chemistry most people envy; a chemistry that comes from being close friends for the majority of their lives.
They were elementary schoolmates, having known one another since the fourth grade. Mikki and JJ began officially dating in their junior year of high school, over 10 years ago. They first exchanged “I love yous” after a date to a concert and have been together ever since.
A Picture-Perfect George Washington Hotel Wedding
Mikki and JJ said “I do” in a George Washington Hotel wedding on Saturday, October 5th, 2019. The hotel is nearly 100 years old and bears a rich history, so it was the perfect venue choice for a couple that’s been together for so many years. Not surprisingly, the ceremony and reception were lovely.
Photos from the big day were taken at the George Washington Hotel and the neighboring Washington County Courthouse. Finished in 1900, the courthouse is an architectural gem, designed in the Italian Renaissance style and topped with a massive dome. We weren’t the only people shooting at the courthouse that day: a television crew was also filming an episode of Manhunt. We all had a lighthearted laugh at that surprise!
