Having had the honor to photograph Ashley and Michael’s engagement and family photos in Asbury Woods, it is easy to see that this is a couple whose commitment to each other, and their children, runs deep. The ability to identify each other’s best qualities, with unconditional caring and love being the top ones, we knew this was a couple whose wedding, at the Whispering Trees Manor, we were excited to capture and preserve.
Falling in Love
When Michael met Ashley on her first night at work for the city, he wasn’t looking for love. “I met her at work,” he says. “I didn’t plan on talking to her,” were his famous last words! And then he found that he couldn’t stop. As the two began spending more time together, Ashley knew Michael was special when her driveway snow would be shoveled so she wouldn’t have to do it or when she’d climb into her car only to find flowers and sweet treats left behind for her.
A Christmas Proposal
It was easy for Ashley to say yes to Michael when he asked her to marry him, two years after they first met. Thinking that they were headed out to look at Christmas lights at Busch Gardens, Ashley dressed comfortably and for the weather. She also completely ignored protests to change into “something cuter” by a friend. Not picking up on the clue, the couple enjoyed the lights and then adventured onto a virtual reality ride. The ride was nausea-inducing and it caught up to Ashley! Shortly after the ride ended, Ashley soon parted with the contents of her stomach. Michael took that opportunity to profess his love and propose marriage. Ashley, shocked and surprised, punched Michael in the arm but happily accepted this Christmasy proposal!
Memories to Last a Lifetime at Whispering Trees Manor, Edinboro, PA
Ashley and Michael are happiest enjoying home projects, being home with their kids, and eating a deliciously-prepared meal. Their dream of a home on open land spurs them forward. This dream no doubt was a driving force in choosing their wedding venue at Whispering Trees Manor. The gorgeous wide open spaces at Whispering Trees Manor encourage nature and expansiveness for days; the venue’s goal is to allow for “individuality and authenticity needed to create memories that will last a lifetime”.
This venue boasts four spacious acres, surrounded by natural beauty, in Edinboro, PA. Whispering Tree Manor welcomes you to a charming and rustic covered bridge upon arrival on the property. Creek or meadow side ceremony locations offer greenery as far as the eye can see. A wood covered, open air pavilion allows for the reception to have cover from the elements while still providing an opportunity to convene outdoors. We appreciate Whispering Trees Manor for its dramatic landscape, natural lighting, and lush greenness that only the country can offer.
Looking Good
On their wedding day, Ashley and Michael were stunning to photograph. Ashley, in a sleeveless lace covered corset gown, her long locks braided and pinned, showed off her gorgeous smile, eager to marry her best friend. Her sunflower tattoo blended in with the floral outdoor setting and wooded archway under which she and Michael repeated their vows and married. Micheal, dapper in a classic suit and with his full beard neatly trimmed, couldn’t keep his eyes away from his bride. The couple was at ease and naturally beautiful in this scenic setting that is Whispering Tree Manor.
