Becca & Mike Tie the Knot in a Zem Zem Shrine Club Wedding

It was such a blast reuniting with Becca and Mike recently. We originally captured the happy pair for their stunning engagement session, and now had the unbeatable opportunity to join them for their Zem Zem Shrine Club wedding. Although venues and group sizes had to change as a result of COVID, it was an absolutely beautiful ceremony and we were so happy to share in the couple’s joy.

German Proposal, Greek Wedding

Mike’s proposal set the stage for their Zem Zem Shrine Club wedding to be epic. When Becca was studying abroad in Germany, Mike decided to make a surprise appearance… with a very special item in his carry-on. The separation of an ocean couldn’t stop him from popping the question. Becca, meanwhile, was having lunch with her roommates when she suddenly came face-to-face with her sneaky soulmate.

Since that magical moment, the two have enjoyed traveling across the country and overseas together. With such obvious love for each other and sight-seeing, it’s clear that their wedding is just the start of another great adventure. And though it started in Germany, it concluded with a beautiful reception at the Greek Orthodox Church.

Zem Zem Shrine Club

The Zem Zem Banquet and Conference Center was a gorgeous location for Becca and Mike’s wedding. Their joy lit up the entire room — they made our jobs easy! Their celebration also featured a moving bonsai ceremony. This unique tradition isn’t something that we often get to capture at weddings, and was a beautiful symbol of hope for Becca and Mike’s future together. These little trees can live to be 800 years old! They’re also seen as representative of harmony, peace, and natural good.

We also got to take Becca’s bridal portraits. She looked absolutely gorgeous, and it was so much fun to help her shine. For the location, we headed to the Erie County Cemetery. Becca’s family has a plot at the Korean War veteran’s memorial, under the right wing of the plane. This area provided unique architecture, tranquil scenery, and a wonderful way to make the shoot personal for Becca.
