One of the best parts of being engagement and wedding photographers is getting to walk alongside our couples during one of the most exciting parts of their lives. It truly is the absolute best! We have the opportunity to meet couples during one of their highest life moments and then stay through some super fun events! But do you know what’s even better? When we get to continue walking through life with our couples. When we get to hang out and photograph these amazing people after their wedding – yeah, that’s the good stuff!
Enter Alexa and Ryan. We met these two a couple of years ago, just after getting engaged. They are kind, down-to-earth, and lots of fun. We always enjoy our time together so much.
Alexa and Ryan met in the library of Edinboro University, where they were both in school, so the town and campus are very special to them. We captured their engagement session in downtown Edinboro in early 2021. We appreciate their love for a classic, traditional look and the importance of sentimentality in their lives.
Alexa and Ryan were married in the fall of 2021 at the Madeline’s in Cranesville, PA. Surrounded by gorgeous lakes and woods, their wedding was sweet, fun, and full of emotion. When Alexa describes their relationship, she says, “From the very beginning, I knew this was different, but in the best way.” With a start like that, we knew it was going to last!
So, imagine our excitement when we heard from these two again to make plans for an anniversary session! Making it through the first year of marriage is, for sure, a reason to celebrate. And when that celebration includes donning your wedding day finery once again to run around downtown Edinboro, count us in!
As much as Alexa and Ryan love each other, they love their dog as an equal family member. On most Saturday mornings, you’ll find them hanging out in Edinboro, playing with their pup in the big green fields. So it was only fitting that this was the backdrop for their anniversary photos. Because their engagement session was also in Edinboro, we could recreate some of the shots we made then, only this time all dressed up!
