Jesse and Carolyn’s Summer Warner Theatre Wedding

September 17, 2019

On Saturday, July 27, 2019, I photographed the summer Warner Theatre wedding of Jesse Jordon to Carolyn Conedera in Erie, PA.

The Warner Theatre

The Warner Theatre is a historic art-deco style venue located in downtown Erie, PA. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982 and is still home to several musical and artistic productions throughout the year.

The Warner Theatre is one of my favorite venues to shoot. The elaborate Grand Lobby, bronze staircase, and soft, golden light all make the historic venue a photographer’s dream. To see why this is one of my favorite venues, check out another summer Warner Theatre wedding I photographed.

Victorian Bridal Portraits

Jesse and Carolyn held the entirety of their event in the Warner Theatre: ceremony, reception and bridal portraits. Because of this, I was able to highlight the venue, as well as take several different kinds of photos during the portrait session.

Before the ceremony began, Jesse and Carolyn chose to have their entire bridal party photographed in a Victorian-style photo shoot. It was a creative and enjoyable decision, as the bridal party had a lot of fun with it. I had a lot of fun shooting it, as well. The Victorian-style photographs obviously suited the venue, as well as Jesse and Carolyn’s lovably bold personalities.

A Special First Look

Jesse and Carolyn chose to have a “first look” at their wedding. If you’re unaware, a first look is when the couple allows a photographer to capture a special, intimate moment before the ceremony: the first time the groom sees his bride in her gown. It is an alternative to the traditional order of the ceremony, where the groom first sees his bride as she walks down the aisle.

They chose to have their first look at one of the smaller staircases at the Warner Theatre.

The two shared their moment together before the ceremony began, and I was able to watch the raw emotions and excitement unfold on their faces. It was a very touching moment to capture on film.

An enormous thank you to Jesse and Carolyn for allowing me to be a part of their beautiful day.
